Over time your pergola may start to look old and worn out but before replacing you should consider staining your pergola to give it a new lease of life. Follow these simple steps to get your pergola looking brand new. Before starting you will need to consider if it is the correct weather, once you are sure you will have dry weather you can begin.

1. Clean your pergola ensuring you remove any dirt or debris. Use can easily do this by using a cloth or a brush for any difficult to remove dirt. If you decide to hose it down or get it wet you will need to make sure it is completely dry before moving on to step two.

2. Using a paintbrush apply a thin coat of stain to your pergola. Next, wait until the first coat is fully dry. There will be recommended timescales on your stain instructions.

3. Next, you should apply a second coat and wait for it to fully dry. Use an old rag and white spirit if needed to clean up any drip marks or spills.

4. Leave to fully dry and the task is complete.
